First the laptop, Now the car

Man I can’t win. So my car has been making some funny noises lately, well since March when Big Monkey hit a BIG bump when we went to the “cattle gaps” birthday party. Big Monkey finally took it in today to see what was wrong with it. We use a local mechanic at AAMCO and they have always been great with us and our cars. (It’s nice to find someone who really does seem to do honest work when it comes to cars.) They called Big Monkey a while ago and said they believe it is the water pump that need replacing. If my car is still under warranty, we’ll have to take it to a Toyota dealership. I called the dealer I bought the car from to see if it was still under warranty. We had bought the extended warranty as well and I’m not sure when it expires/expired. I was told as long as my car was under 60,000 miles that the water pump would be covered. This is great news for me. I think the car only has 30,000something miles on it. (Not bad for a 2004.) Of course the closest dealership to us is at least 30 minutes away. They said they should have the part in stock and I can bring them the car today and pick it up on Monday. So when Big Money gets home from teaching CPR this morning, we’ll see if we will take it in today or wait until Monday. It doesn’t matter too much but if we take it in, it means Big Monkey will need to get a ride to work tomorrow (or I can drop him off, or he could walk) and I’ll have to drive the truck to church in the morning. So maybe we’ll wait until Monday to take it in. Who knows. But now I’ve got my computer in the laptop hospital and my car on its way to the car hospital.
