If you are like Big Monkey, you are now quoting lines from the 1997 movie titled Vegas Vacation. To be honest, I have not seen the entire thing and don’t remember any of it that I might have seen. I am guessing though that I should hope our vacation doesn’t turn out like the Griswold’s did.
We will be flying out on Wednesday afternoon to go to Las Vegas. We have a connecting flight that will put us into Atlanta before getting into Las Vegas. Hopefully Little Monkey will do well with the flights. He has not been on a plane in about a year and a half and likely doesn’t remember the experience at all! Since he is two, he does have his own seat on the plane this time. Hopefully that will help make it a better trip for everyone. We plan to leave a bit early to ensure that we get through everything okay. We are parking our car at offsite parking and then will get a ride from them to the airport. We are told that there are big delays with TSA at our airport so we are also trying to get there early to get through that. Since we have Little Monkey and all that he has to bring on the plane, we do not want to have any holdups getting through security that would make us late for our plane.
On our trip, we will be visiting Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon with some stops along the way. Big Monkey, Little Monkey, Big Monkey’s Sister, Big Monkey’s Brother, Big Monkey’s Sister-in-law, Big Monkey’s Dad, and I will all be going on the trip together. It should be an interesting vacation. We have never all been on a trip together before. I doubt there will be much in the way of real blog posts (although there are some scheduled already so you should stop by) but if I do get the chance, I will blog about the trip and its happenings.
Today will be filled with finishing up packing (Or if you are Big Monkey, you will just be starting.) and getting things situated for us to be gone. I have an appointment to get my nails done, Big Monkey has to work for a little bit in the morning and then mow the lawn, I want to go to the gym and I have an appointment for new health insurance. On top of all that is laundry and finishing packing and running to the store for anything we might still need. Hopefully we won’t be up too late tonight trying to get the rest of the packing done. I’m going to need a good night’s sleep to have to deal with Little Monkey and flying for a good portion of the day!
