A Day To Remember

September 11, 2008

The world has never been the same as it was back on September 10, 2001. I remember the morning of September 11, 2001 pretty clearly. I was getting up and getting ready to go to classes in college. I turned on the news and started hearing all that had already gone on and then watched as the second plane hit the other tower. It was all very surreal. We still had class and I headed over to the business building. Many people were just learning of the attacks because they had been in class. Our teachers didn’t really want to talk about the situation for the most part, they just wanted us to try and focus on class. Much easier said than done, especially for some students who were from NY and had family and friends who they were not able to get in contact with them that morning. Big Monkey was supposed to be coming to see me that weekend but ended up staying in Orlando while he job tried to decide if they would be shipping extra staff to NY to help out. He didn’t end up going.

Almost 3,000 people lost their lives that day, a day that started out just as any other. Getting up and getting ready for work, dropping their kids at daycare, stopping in to Starbucks to grab a coffee, etc. Any day, at any time, your life could change forever. Please take a minute today to remember those who were lost that day and to think of the soldiers who are continually fighting for the freedom of our country.

There are so many pictures from that day but I’ve only decided to include one. I don’t want to remember all the negative of the day forever.
