We Are Off!

February 27, 2009

Little Monkey and I are headed to the beach later today. Thankfully this weekend it is supposed to be warmer and maybe we can actually head down to the sand. Big Monkey is staying back to take care of the dog and to work. (It was his suggestion that we go to the beach for the weekend.) We will get to spend the weekend with Grammy, Pops, Mimi, Kasey and Matt. It should be a fun time.

On our way to the beach, we plan to stop at JoAnn’s for some more supplies. We have used up all the Insul-Bright we bought for coffee cozies and we need some more buttons. Buttons are on sale this weekend, so it is a great time to pick them up.  We also had a special request for a certain type of fabric coffee cozy, so I will be looking to see what we might be able to find for that.

So have a good weekend. I know we will be enjoying the beach!

National Pancake Day at IHOP

February 24, 2009

Today is National Pancake Day Celebration at IHOP. If you head over to your local IHOP today between 7am and 10pm, you can receive a Free short stack (three) of buttermilk pancakes. They are asking that you consider making a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network. (This is not required but it would be nice of you to help out! Every little bit makes a difference, $3, $5, $20, whatever.) So, get yourself a free/cheap breakfast (or lunch or dinner for that matter) and help out a good cause!

We’ve Added To Our Shop

February 20, 2009

Last night I spent a good portion of the night (when I was not eating fourteen layer cake) sewing coffee cozies for our shop. Since I had been sick for a couple of days, I had gotten behind on the sewing. We had orders already paid for for seven Cora Cozies that weren’t even sewn yet! I made it my mission to get all of those completed. I finished and then started in on the other Cora Cozies for stock. Once I finished those too (productive, wasn’t I?) I pinned together the five other assorted cozies that have been on the back burner since beginning the Cora project. I even FINISHED all of those. It was a very productive night! I handed off all the cozies to Amy and she got them addressed and ready for the mail. The stock items were photographed and most were added to our shop. Please take a visit over there and check out the new stuff.

If you happen to like these guys:

You should take a look too. And if you don’t like them….well, we’re working on getting some other team options.

I’m Sorry

February 19, 2009

I’m very sorry for the lack of posting going on around here. I’ve had a rough couple of days (things are fine now though so don’t worry.) And I’ve been busy trying to get orders filled in our Etsy shop. Today will hopefully be a day of finishing up some orders to ship out and maybe get back ahead of the game again!

I hope to soon be back to normal blogging and eventually tell you some more of the things that have been happening around here. Hope everyone is doing well.

Cora Paige’s Playground

February 16, 2009

Today is kickoff day for many Etsy shop owners. We are also participating in this endevour. You can visit our shop, TwoFloridaGirls to see what we have. You can also go to Etsy through the button below to see all items that are currently for sale that will benefit Cora Paige’s Playground.

So check out the Etsy shops today to see what everyone has to offer. Get a great gift for yourself or someone else. Think ahead…birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day…and help contribute to Cora Paige’s Playground.

Happy Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2009

Today is Valentine’s Day. We will be doing nothing exciting at our house. Maybe try and finish sewing some more coffee cozies for the shop. (We sold the three Cora Paige ones in less than a day!) Other than that it will just be me and Little Monkey hanging out. Big Monkey has to work.

I’m sure some day later we will go out to celebrate, although not necessarily for “Valentine’s Day.” I also meant to do some crafts with Little Monkey this week but between not feeling too well and needing to get stuff made for the Cora Paige Playground Fund, there hasn’t been a lot of time to work on that. Maybe today will be different. I had a few ideas in mind. Oh well. The best of intentions…..

Cora Paige

February 13, 2009

This week, we came across a blog that was selling items on Etsy in memory of Cora Paige. All proceeds are going towards a playground in memory of Cora Paige. For more information about Core Paige and her story, see their family website here: The Macs

Some bloggers and Etsy shop owners have gotten together and are putting together items in their Etsy shops for Cora Paige. We have joined up and are in the process of making some new coffee cozies to put in the shop. We’ve got some cute and fun fabric to use for this project. I will be busy this weekend getting some more made but there are some in the shop already.

The kickoff for all the stores is Monday (so I will be back to remind you) but feel free to go ahead and look around and make a purchase for a good cause.

A Wireless Printer?

February 12, 2009

A Year of CrockPotting blog is giving away a Wireless Printer. “Live Wirelessly, Print Wirelessly.” We could really use one of those!

Right now we have a printer that does work but it is in my sister’s room. We each have to go in there every time we want to print. Generally this is not a problem and we can schedule it around when she wouldn’t be there. Once or twice we have remembered that we needed to print something late at night and we just wait until the morning. Also not a horrible problem, but it would be nice to have a wireless printer that we could keep somewhere else like the living room. Then everyone could use it without having to go plug into the one in her room. Everyone uses a laptop that runs through our wireless router. The printer is that only thing that is still wired!

You can feel free to go enter the giveaway too….but really there’s already a LOT of entries and we probably won’t win anyhow! :)
