Baskin-Robbins 31cent Scoop Night

April 27, 2011

Tonight, from 5-10pm, you can go to your local Baskin-Robbins and get some ice cream for just 31 cents per scoop!

Even better, Baskin-Robbins is making a donation to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF)!! (You’ll probably be seeing more info from me about NFFF because we are helping organize a golf tournament for them in August!

If you are on Facebook, and really-who isn’t, you can even RSVP to the event! I’m going to try and get us all out for some ice cream tonight too!

Easter Shirt for Him

April 21, 2011

After seeing that Little Monkette and I both had Easter shirts, Little Monkey informed me that he needed an Easter shirt too. The night before the Easter Egg Hunt, I stayed up and made him a shirt. I was worried that the shirt was a little too ‘girly’ with the Easter fabric bunny, so I added the bowtie. The good news, Little Monkey loved it. :)

Happy Birthday Boys!

April 18, 2011

I was asked to make a few birthday shirts for my friend’s twin boys birthday. I was thrilled that she would allow me to make them. She said that if she was going to pay somebody to make them, why not me! (At least I think that was what she said. Ha ha.)

The boys have been assigned their own color since they were born, one is orange, the other is lime green. We managed to find some shirts online in their colors and added a “2″ to each one. Their birthday theme is transportation or things that go, something like that.  I had a great fabric for it and it ended up working out well. Happy Birthday little guys! Hope you have a great day!

Easter Shirt For Me!

April 16, 2011

After making Little Monkette’s Easter shirt, I was a little sad that I hadn’t made option 2 with 2 bunnies. I decided that I would just make a shirt for me! Since option 2, with two bunnies, was more of a mom and baby design, I thought it would be perfect for me.

I looked through my closet to find a shirt that I didn’t wear much but that still had life in it. I found this plain light pinkish shirt.

I decided to pick out some fabric that was different from Little Monkette’s shirt. I thought the mommy bunny should be a different fabric than the baby bunny. I used the same fabric as Little Monkette’s shirt for the baby bunny. I decided that the different fabrics was similar to how Little Monkette is only half me and half Big Monkey. So I went with a pink fabric but with stripes instead of swirls. A little cutting, ironing and sewing and my new Easter shirt is done!

Not as boring Easter shirt after

Please ignore the mess in the background…..I was working on Florida Love shirts at the same time! We will be wearing our Easter shirts to the egg hunt today! Hopefully we’ll get a picture together!

Here is a close up of the bunnies on my shirt:

The Girl Creative

Florida Love

April 15, 2011

We had an idea for a new shirt/onesie for the shop and finally made it. The shirt will be making its official debut at the Homespun Chic Marketplace this weekend. After that, it will become available in our shop.

We made one for Little Monkette to model (and keep) since she is a Florida girl for sure!

Florida Love on a Florida Girl

For the debut of Florida Love, we made onesies in pink with ruffles! So girly and fun! It will also be available in white after the Marketplace.

Being the creators of the shirt, we decided that the big Florida Girls should each have their own. I found some shirts at Walmart that were on clearance for $1!! Great deal! We had some problems with the layout of the state of Florida on our shirts, so we decided to add a circle around it. If you are at Homespun Chic Marketplace this weekend, look for us!

Easter Shirt For Her

April 14, 2011

We have a few Easter events this year, so I decided that Little Monkette needed to have an Easter shirt. I couldn’t decide on the best layout of the shirt. I decided since I couldn’t pick one, so I posted this picture on Facebook to see what all my friends thought.

One bunny, Two bunnies or Three bunnies

After the vote, it was decided on that three bunnies was the best option. (I was a little partial to two bunnies…but I made up for that later.) I picked out some fun pink fabric that matched a skort Grammy got for Little Monkette and made her shirt. I love how it turned out. She will be sporting it at all our Easter events this month!

And I just couldn’t help myself…but I love the little surprise on the back!

One extra bunny!

Free Cone Day!

April 12, 2011

Today is Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry’s! Unfortunately, we don’t have a Ben & Jerry’s, so we will be missing out but if you have a local Ben & Jerry’s, you should go get some free ice cream!! Ask them for an extra for me too! (I don’t think they will give you one though…)

Hours for Free Cone Day are 12noon-8pm.

Middle of April?!?!?!

April 11, 2011

It is almost the middle of April and I haven’t posted even once yet! How did that happen?!?!?! Well, there are a few reasons….but mostly I have been getting ready for a craft show. I have been doing lots of sewing and when I’m not sewing, we’ve been outside playing a lot, trying to enjoy the nice weather. I have taken some pictures and plan to share some crafts and other things with you…just as soon as I can find some time to sit down and write! I really like blogging, but it is one thing on my list that apparently gets the shaft when I have a lot going on. I promise to try and get some posts up! :)
