While shopping in a few thrift stores today, I ran across an item that I didn’t even know existed. Who would’ve thought that you need something like this to tan your feet at home. Couldn’t you just go outside and put your feet in the sun?
The nice folks over at Shutterfly contacted me this month to see if I would be interested in using them for our Christmas cards again this year. I, of course, said yes! Last year they did a great job on our cards and it made it much easier for us!
I thought I knew what card design I would use last year (and even wrote about it here) but I ended up picking out a different design that fit our photo better. I love how simple the process is. The hardest part is deciding on what design to use. This year we will be using Shutterfly again, thanks to the ease and simplicity of the process.
I’ve been checking out the Christmas Cards and I love so many of the designs again this year. There are so many options and I love the sorting features available. I was able to narrow my choices (but still have a LOT of options left) by changing what size I wanted and what type of card or even colors I wanted.
I love the fun design of this card (but feel we’d need our picture taken on the beach too!):
I also like the design of the Picking The Tree card. It reminds me of a long time ago when people actually went and cut down their own Christmas tree. We just drag ours down for the attic and put it together now!
If you like to send cards at other times in the year, Shutterfly has you covered there too. They have a large selection of greeting cards including, Thanksgiving, New Years, Birthday, Valentines and every day cards.

This morning I told Little Monkey that we would get a movie from Blockbuster Express after school. (Blockbuster Express sent me a code for a free movie!) After school we came home and had a snack while I planned for a few items to pick up at Publix. I wasn’t planning to make it a major shopping trip but I wanted to grab a few things that were buy one get one free and that I had coupons for.
I took a look at the ad, marked what I thought I wanted to pick up and then check out a few websites to make sure I was finding the coupons for the items I needed. While I was doing some looking, a new feed popped up on my feed reader from Coupon Queeny. It included a link to a coupon from SweetBay for $10.00 off a $40.00 purchase. I hadn’t planned to spend that much, as I was just going to get a few things and get up to the $25 mark to use the gas card coupon they had ($10off a $50 gas card with $25 grocery purchase). I decided I could just pick up a few more things that we would use anyhow and that were on sale.
My grand total for everything in the picture was $101.52. Now that might not sound too great….but think about this…there are TWO $50 gas gift cards in there! So it was like paying $1.52 for EVERYTHING else….Not too shabby!
Here’s the rundown-
4 boxes of Eggo Waffles (On sale and a coupon)
4 8 o’clock coffees (BOGO and coupons)
12 Yoplait yogurts (On sale and coupons)
2 boxes Alphabits Cereal (BOGO)
5 Philadephia Cooking Cremes (On sale and coupons)
4 Pepperridge Farms Milano cookies (Coupons–Found on the 8 o’clock coffees, buy the coffee get FREE Milanos!)
2 $50 Hess Gas Cards
My total (at retail and no coupons) $182.81
Store Sales/BOGOs $27.78
Store Coupons $30.00
Manufacturer Coupons $23.51
Final Total paid $101.52 for $100 in gas cards and all the food. Yay!
Back in December, Brandy from Sunfire Creative posted on her blog offering a deal to help her out with her shop. I decided to take advantage of the deal and get a shirt for Little Monkette. I know it would be cute and worth the money I spent (I did receive a discount for helping her out but was not required to make this blog post. I am doing it on my own accord, with permission from Brandy.)
Brandy was very nice and helpful when I placed my order. I was expecting to get a shirt with Little Monkette’s name on it and a bird on a vine. I was so surprised and excited when I got the shirt. The work was so well done, certainly better than I can do! I was also pleasantly surprised at the added ruffle on the bottom of the shirt. I wasn’t expecting that at all. I ordered a size up for Little Monkette, so she has just now been able to fit into it. She was hard to catch in a good picture today. She still likes to squat down when I try to take a picture of her!
I did alter the photo, since her name was on it, but it is SO cute. Head over to Sunfire Creative and check out all her cute stuff!
Recently I found LoveLeeSoaps shop on Etsy. They make some fun food shaped soaps. One night, I was online and noticed that LoveLeeSoaps was giving away discount coupons on Facebook! I managed to snag one and ordered some Swedish Fish soaps for my friend D. She LOVES Swedish Fish, so I thought she would think these soaps would be fun. D liked them and tried fooling her kids into thinking they were the snack swedish fish but they figured it out before eating it. LoveLeeSoaps had a great product, offers many great deals and had great service. I would suggest LoveLeeSoaps to anyone looking for fun soap! Check them out!
I found Broken Road Farm on Etsy when looking for lego man type favors for Little Monkey’s birthday. I fell in love with these little lego men soaps. They are so fun. Broken Road Farm had great customer service when I contacting them about needing more soaps than they had listed. I am glad I got these for the party. They were fun favors to give out, even with an incident with one of Little Monkey’s aunts! (She thought it was candy and bit the head right off before we noticed and stopped her!) Check out Broken Road Farm too!
I ended up repackaging the lego men soaps since they came in packs of six (Ready to gift, but we were giving out just one per person).
A family friend of ours, M, had a birthday recently. She happens to love Legos and Harry Potter. After some research through her mom and sister, I did some hunting on Etsy for a fun gift. I happened upon some pretty cool ideas. Some of them were out of my budget for this gift but I did find a cute pair of earrings that I thought she would like.
The earrings were from The Cosmic Fun Palace. I emailed the shop owner prior to making my purchase. I know about Legos..but was not familiar with the Harry Potter sets really. I wanted to see if the earrings I was looking at getting were actually pieces from the Harry Potter sets, or Legos that had the Harry Potter logo applied to them. I was given a quick response with great customer service. I purchased the earrings for M and they came ready to give to her. I just wrapped them up. M loved them! (Yay!!!) Great product, Great price and Great service! Looking for some unique Lego themed gifts (or other fun items too!)? Check out The Cosmic Fun Palace!
Where did I go?? That is a great question. It is not like me to not be blogging….for the most part I have been here, reading lots of blogs, working on projects and taking a camping trip. I just haven’t managed to fit any blogging time into that. I am hoping to fix that. I have some things to tell you about, so hopefully I will find some time to sit and type it out for you! I would like to give you a list to help me remember the things I want to write about (like I did over here). Updating with links as they are posted!
From the previous list–
- I still need to tell you about the shirt I ordered from an Etsy shop
- Camping at Paynes Prairie State Park
- Brownie Oreos
- New shirts/onesies
- Special Order Bean bags
- Another book I read
- An earring order from an Etsy shop
- Two soap orders from two Etsy shops
- Little Monkey’s Valentines for his classmates
- Little Monkey’s Birthday shirt
- Birthday Twirl Skirt
I think that’s it for now….lol that is quite the list! Hopefully I’ll find some time to get to writing and show you some pictures too!
