I’ve Been Crafting

March 27, 2012

I haven’t been posting a whole lot lately….mostly because I just haven’t taken the time to sit down and really write anything. Part of that could be do to some of the projects I have been working on. I have made many projects over the past few months and I haven’t been able to share them all with you. I thought I’d share them in one big picture post instead of a bunch of smaller ones, so here goes!

First up is the Lobster Bow Tie and matching Lobster Headband that you may have seen posted on the Lobster Love post.

Next up was the Cupcake Birthday style headband I also gave K and her daughter H.

This elephant onesie was a special order. We have made some before and even have it available in our shop to order.

This ‘m’ onesie was another special order. I love making initials and picking out the fabrics for these types of orders. I imagine the recipients also love these gifts. I know I liked getting personalized gifts for my littles!

Special Order 'm'

Someone requested this special order of A House Divided onesie. They even ordered two, maybe to have one to grow into? :) I am ready for football season to start back up, but of course we have all summer to wait!

This is the pillowcase style Rock n Roll dress I made for K’s daughter H. When I saw the bandanas at Wal-mart, the fabric just spoke to me that it would be perfect for her!

I have a few more projects hanging around and hopefully I’ll get those done, photographed and uploaded for you to see! :)

I Got Lost-

August 27, 2011

Well, I didn’t really get lost….Summer just took over my life. Over the past, almost two months, I have been on vacation, had a sick kid, taken Little Monkette to four weeks of swimming lessons, taken over the Homespun Chic Marketplace with Amy, sewn a lot of special orders, read a bunch of books and sent Little Monkey off to Kindergarten!

I am hoping that, in the next week or two, I can get a new ‘schedule’ of life together and get back to blogging. I have lots of things to write about and plenty of pictures to share! I do plan to keep blogging and I’m sorry I’ve been gone for so long. I realize most of the people that have still be visiting are coming from links and google searches, as most of my ‘readers’ follow through RSS feeds. I bet you were surprised when this popped up in your readers!

Since I think most posts are pointless without a picture…here you go- I took this on our trip to the Keys. It is one of my favorite pictures from the entire trip!

Lots of Special Orders!

June 27, 2011

Our Two Florida Girls’ Etsy shop has been keeping me busy lately! I like the crafting and creating and the shop gives me that opportunity. I thought I would show you a few more items that I’ve made over the past couple of weeks (besides the ABC bean bags).

Cornhole bags for a wedding! :)

ABC Bean Bags

June 25, 2011

Last month we had a special order for a set of alphabet bean bags…the entire alphabet! It was quite the project but it was so much fun! I had a great time picking out fabrics (26 different ones!) and matching solid color fabrics for the letters. This turned into a great gift for a very lucky girl in Canada.

Cut bean bags with letters.

The above photo is from during the process the cutting everything out and matching up fabrics for each letter. I also was moving the bean bag fabrics around until I liked the arrangement before picking out the letter fabrics. This order took almost a month to complete. We had discussed that with the customer so that I wasn’t sitting at the cutting table or sewing machine every hour of every day that I didn’t HAVE to be somewhere else! :) It worked out great and everything got done.

Completed bean bags.

With as much time and work went in to these bean bags, we were a little sad to see them go. They are a lot of fun and we know the new owner will enjoy them! Interested in bean bags of your own? Come see us at the shop and we’ll set up you a custom listing!

Happy Birthday Boys!

April 18, 2011

I was asked to make a few birthday shirts for my friend’s twin boys birthday. I was thrilled that she would allow me to make them. She said that if she was going to pay somebody to make them, why not me! (At least I think that was what she said. Ha ha.)

The boys have been assigned their own color since they were born, one is orange, the other is lime green. We managed to find some shirts online in their colors and added a “2″ to each one. Their birthday theme is transportation or things that go, something like that.  I had a great fabric for it and it ended up working out well. Happy Birthday little guys! Hope you have a great day!

Florida Love

April 15, 2011

We had an idea for a new shirt/onesie for the shop and finally made it. The shirt will be making its official debut at the Homespun Chic Marketplace this weekend. After that, it will become available in our shop.

We made one for Little Monkette to model (and keep) since she is a Florida girl for sure!

Florida Love on a Florida Girl

For the debut of Florida Love, we made onesies in pink with ruffles! So girly and fun! It will also be available in white after the Marketplace.

Pink Onesie with ruffles, Florida Love

Being the creators of the shirt, we decided that the big Florida Girls should each have their own. I found some shirts at Walmart that were on clearance for $1!! Great deal! We had some problems with the layout of the state of Florida on our shirts, so we decided to add a circle around it. If you are at Homespun Chic Marketplace this weekend, look for us!

Middle of April?!?!?!

April 11, 2011

It is almost the middle of April and I haven’t posted even once yet! How did that happen?!?!?! Well, there are a few reasons….but mostly I have been getting ready for a craft show. I have been doing lots of sewing and when I’m not sewing, we’ve been outside playing a lot, trying to enjoy the nice weather. I have taken some pictures and plan to share some crafts and other things with you…just as soon as I can find some time to sit down and write! I really like blogging, but it is one thing on my list that apparently gets the shaft when I have a lot going on. I promise to try and get some posts up! :)
