Publix and Winn-Dixie Shopping This Week

August 24, 2008

On Thursday I went to Publix for some groceries and back to Winn-Dixie for some chicken. (I had already been on Wednesday for bread.) Here is the rundown of what we got.

Publix:
18pk Beer on sale $11.99
Kashi Vive Cereal $3.79
3 boxes of Cheerios on sale $1.99 each
Success Rice $2.59
Soy Sauce $1.99
Corn Starch $1.19

2 Ken’s Marinade bogo $2.79
2 cans Pineapple slices $1.19 each
2 can Mandarin oranges $1.65 each
Lemon Juice $1.29
Ground Ginger $2.99
Ground Red Pepper $1.99
2 bags Tostitos bogo $4.89
Blueberry Pie Filling $4.59
OJ concentrate $1.50
Sour Cream $1.45
4 Oscar Mayer Beef Franks bogo $3.99
Green Pepper $.54
Yellow Onion $.34
Garlic on sale $.24
8×8 foil pans on sale $2.76
Cream Cheese $1.69
Taco Cheese on sale $3.00
2 Pillsbury Crescent Rolls on sale $1.67 each
French Bread $2.19
2 Tostitos Dips bogo $3.69

After all the sales, bogos, coupons. My total was $63.56. Total savings $48.65 ($19.43 from coupons, $28.29 from sale/bogo, $.93 advantage buys) Not too bad considering it also included beer and we got some stockpile stuff and some stuff for dinners.

Winn-Dixie
I went back to Winn-Dixie to get Chicken because it is on sale bogo for boneless skinless chicken breasts at $4.49/lb. Not the best price, but it was $4.29/lb at Publix, not bogo. I was buying about 12lbs, so I decided to go to Winn-Dixie.

I got just under 12lbs of chicken for $25.28 and saved $25.28. I paid for it with two gift cards I had received from transferring prescriptions. So…FREE chicken! 🙂

I bought the chicken and many other ingredients for three new recipes we are trying and some stuff for Thursday night’s dinner (Pampered Chef Taco Ring). I’ll let you know how the test run recipes go. I already prepared two of them Thursday night. And I’m not as cool as some of those other blogs that show pics as the cooking goes along (mainly because I didn’t think of it until I was almost done!). Maybe next time!
