Halloween has come and gone and I am working on getting caught up on pictures and stories.
On Halloween night, we had been invited to a party but Little Monkette was starting to feel a little under the weather, so we opted to stay home. We hadn’t bought candy to hand out to the trick or treaters but we raided our bags from Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (I’ll write it that sometime too!) and had a good amount to hand out. After our first few trick or treaters, we headed out to hit a few houses too!
I decided the wagon would be the best method to get us around the block. Buzz was very excited to get some more candy (even though almost all of it ended up being put in the bag to give away since he couldn’t have it). Little Monkette was excited to go for the ride. Roland was sent out to the backyard and he was NOT happy that he didn’t get to go on the walk. It was still a little bit light out and there were not a ton of people out (It appears that it is more normal in our neighborhood to sit in your driveway and hand out candy than to have people come to the door.). We went around the block, got some candy and headed back to the house.
I honestly think Buzz may have liked handing out candy more than going to get it. He had so much fun watching for kids and calling out for them to come to our house. At first he was only giving out one tiny piece of candy to each kid. I decided that I should explain to him that he should have given out more than one tiny little piece. Then he started handing out handfuls of candy. I had to explain again that we would run out quickly if he continued! We finally came to an agreement that two pieces of candy was a good idea. He had a great time. Everyone loved seeing Buzz handing out candy and he loved seeing all the kids. Maybe we will make a habit of handing out candy on Halloween. (This is the first year we have done so since Little Monkey has been around!)
